Capacity Building for Arts Organisations

Trauma Informed Practice & Wellbeing Support

Work in arts organisations has always been complex and nuanced. As someone who spent a significant portion of my career working on capital developments and programme delivery, I understand the unique pressures of this work...and of supporting diverse teams through it.

During the pandemic I saw a rise in approaches from organisations tasked with delivering trauma informed services in a time of trauma.  I realised that I was positioned to support cultural organisations and teams in a person centred, reflective, and compassionate way.   This was followed up by an invite from GLAM Cares to facilitate an introduction to trauma informed working and working with Doncaster Museums and Engage to deliver trauma informed workshops and co-production of reflective practice and a wellbeing support package for staff.  This helped me to reconnect with my passion to help organisations build capacity, combining my unique experiences in mental health and heritage management.

Bespoke support for leadership, project and delivery teams

I am committed to providing flexible, engaging, and responsive support to managers and stakeholders wishing to embed trauma informed approaches and support people trying to do this challenging work. My approach is to work with you to understand the needs of your team and create a reflective and practical approach to working in a trauma informed way.  I also have a particular interest in intersectional practice and working cross culturally, in a neuro-affirmative and anti-oppressive way.  Where possible, I love to work with your own collections & venues, offering a learning space for your team to build on their strengths.

My unique insight into the sector and mental health knowledge allows me to explain things simply and accessibly, building capacity and confidence. I also aim to support your team in identifying quick ways to turn theory into adjustments on the ground alongside developing curiosity, connection and collaboration.
